About Us
I wrote the fairy tale "Little Blu in the Land Of Dragons" in the spring of 2003 at my home in Sarajevo wishing to mark in a special way the first birthday of my son Benjamin. However, my friend Sanjin Fazlić, an academic painter, inspired by the colorful descriptions, dramatic events and powerful message, immediately started working on unique and fanciful illustrations for the story.
This is how the fairy tale became "an illustrated fairy tale".
Soon, the illustrated story about the exciting adventures of Little Blu and his true friend, the baby-dragon Noch, was completed and published
Their deep and pure friendship is the framework of the book.
In fact, this tale, as well as other fairy tales, evokes an eternal struggle between the forces of good and evil.
But now, Little Blu shows us that dragons and people can be friends if they approach each other with open and pure hearts.
I described this idea without any pathos simply by painting stormy events, full of action and constant excitement as well as unexpected turnabouts.
Because children like exciting tales, too.
At first glance the fairy tale may seem too dramatic, so I would like to point out that neither the text nor the drawings contain any explicit scenes of violence.
The tale carries within itself deep and moral messages!
Along these lines, helped by some good people and donors, the "Little Blu Team" was able to give away (as a New Year gift) two thirds of the entire edition to some of the socially most handicapped children in Bosnia and Herzegovina. This act was our greatest joy!!!
In addition, on the stylized leaflets, inserted into the book, Little Blu warns children about the dangers and big risks of entering minefields.
Unfortunately, even today children have accidents in minefields in BIH.
At the end, I would especially like to point out the following:
By doing this project, I realized that greatest possible human spiritual achievement is to help others unselfishly, especially the youngest.
Since then, there has been nothing more important to me!
It is my sincere hope that, in addition to my son, Little Blu amused hundreds of children. This is maybe the way to amuse some more, and that would be more than enough for me.
Yours faithfully,
The Author
p.s.:
I would like to thank all the good people and institutions that helped us unselfishly.
I thank my dear son Benjamin Tanović who was my inspiration and basic initiator of the project.
I thank my family for always being with me.
At the end, as well as at the beginning, I thank the Dear and Only God.
